AETA Membership

Membership Types:

(a) Delegate membership. Individuals serving as the District Technology Coordinator(or equivalent) shall represent a school system in the State of Alabama. Each school district gets one vote and the District Technology Coordinator(or equivalent) will be the voting members of the Association. Delegate members pay dues, receive information provided to the membership, and are eligible to participate in the activities of the Association.

(b) Honorary membership. Past members that have retired from the Educational System may obtain Honorary membership and will not be required to pay dues. Honorary members receive information provided to the membership, and are eligible to participate in the activities of the Association but are not entitled to vote, hold office, or represent a region. The Executive Committee may, from time to time, bestow honorary memberships upon organizations or individuals, as determined by the Executive Committee in its sole discretion, with such rights of membership as the Executive Committee may, from time to time, determine appropriate.

(c) Technology Leadership Team membership. Individuals serving as immediate staff to the District Technology Coordinator (or equivalent). Technology Leadership Team members pay dues, receive information provided to the membership, and are eligible to participate in the activities of the Association but are not entitled to vote, hold office, represent a region, or become an Honorary Member.

(d) Associate membership. Individuals who are employees of non-profit groups providing support to the use of technology by educational institutions may hold Associate member status within the Association. Associate members pay dues, receive information provided to the membership, and are eligible to participate in the activities of the Association but are not entitled to vote, hold office, represent a region, or become an Honorary member.

Technology Leadership Team   $25.00
Associate   $25.00

Renewal for membership takes place during the Summer months. All participants in the AETA Fall Symposium (usually held at the end of September each year) must renew their membership and remit the $25 fee either at the conference or prior to attending the conference. This fee is not included in the Fall Symposium registration fee and must be paid separately.
